- STEP 021 > Take your WALL A and B Bottom and top decals and apply them to each front wall as you see in the photo. IMPORTANT: For movie accuracy, the black panel control box goes on the LEFT wall bottom. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: you must keep a .25cm space on each OUTER wall sides, see the red arrows. This is where your connecting wall foamcore edge will be attached for a perfect fit.
- STEP 022 > Grab your WALL A and hot glue it in place aligned with the floor base edge (bottom red arrow) and connect all the way up the Left Wall's foamcore exposed gap. See how the 2 decals now make a prefect corner ? 🙂
- STEP 023 > Right Wall: Cut out another 32cm X 24cm rectangle from your black sheet of foamcore. Apply one side at a time, peel the wax paper on the back of the label sheets and apply the RIGHT WALL SIDE 2 first. Make sure it is lined up FLUSH with the right side of your wall this time (bottom red arrow) Then align and apply the LEFT WALL SIDE 1 against the first decal left edge. It is NORMAL to see a black gap all along the left side of the wall (bottom left red arrow). This is the THICKNESS of a foamcore sheet, and will be covered when you attach your WALL B piece later on.
- STEP 024 > Now hot glue the Right Wall to the MacTac DC Fix floor making sure it is aligned flush with the right front of the floor base. You can better see here where the red arrow is pointing, where your WALL B needs to press against in the next step
- STEP 025 > As you did with the left side's WALL A, take the hot glue and attach the WALL B piece to the Right Wall. Make sure to keep it at a 90' angle and straight up flush along the exposed Right Wall foamcore side gap. Simple isn't it? 🙂 almost half done.
- STEP 026 > Moving onto the regular basic height walls. Print out and Trim your VADER KENOBI DUEL PDF Decals for the diorama left side's WALL C. Now measure and cut out a 15.5cm X 14.5cm rectangle of of your black foamcore.
- STEP 027 > IMPORTANT: apply ONLY the 6cm right side panel decal and make sure to align it flush to the right of the foamcore piece.
- STEP 028 > You can now use the hot glue gun to attach WALL C to the REAR of WALL A. Place the piece flush against the floor and the push, slide it towards the outside edge of WALL A. NOTE: It is normal for this C wall to NOT reach the height of the 2 front A and B walls.
- STEP 029 > Make sure to align your wall exactly with the WALL A outer edge so that the 2nd WALL C decal will fit and look nice and smooth when applied here. You don't want the WALL A edge to create a bump along the decal corner.
- STEP 030 > When you put decals on foamcore EDGES, they tend to not stick to well. A great fix to this problem is adding a little Glue Stick pass over the Edge. This way the decal will not bend, peel off and curl over time.
- STEP 031 > Here you can better see how you get a really nice flat surface if you adjust your 2 pieces flush just perfectly. When the decal is applied, you will not know there was a gap in the corner.
- STEP 032 > Now take the left WALL C decal and apply it right next to the basic 6cm panel decal. Make sure to align it straight with the corner as well.
- STEP 033 > See how cool that looks? a perfect corner 🙂
- STEP 034 > Time for the opposite side's WALL D. Simply measure and cut a black foamcore rectangle measuring 8.5 cm X 15.5 cm. IMPORTANT: DO NOT PUT YOUR DECAL YET
- STEP 035 > Use the hot glue to secure WALL D against the WALL B edge and the floor at a 90 degree angle of the WALL B piece.
- STEP 036 > As we did for the other side's WALL C, make sure the edges are FLUSH in order to give a perfectly smooth corner angle surface (red arrows) for the decal application.
- STEP 037 > Print out and cut out along your WALL D decals edges.
- STEP 038 > Again, a little bit of Glue Stick will go a long way and prevent the decal corners from peeling off in time. Remember to NEVER use hot glue when placing decals.
- STEP 039 > Align the decal with the WALL D right corner edge and gently press and smooth it out onto the foamcore. You should get a perfect corner fit where the red arrows are pointing to.
- STEP 040 > The rear main angled WALL E starts with a 24cm X 15.5cm rectangle.
