- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Paul Krautter and his son Christian making final designs on their mega structure.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Not only is this great team work but imagine the amazing memories this son will have of his dad and their time together at the booth ? This is what kept me returning to the conventions for 2 decades.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Me and the back of my T-Shirt art 🙂 I had printed the art of Avery T-Shirt paper and applied it myself with my Iron. It turned out pretty good, but it's pretty beat up and cracked after 20 years 😛
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Look how I was a baby back then - Ok I was 38 but mentally closer to a baby LOL. I think I was giving a press interview here.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > After yesterday's attendance, I thought I had an idea what to expect today but was shocked when we had double that today. I guess makes sense since it was the weekend now. However we ran out of plaster put put our thinking caps on and were able to have fans continue building using Papier Mache technique. Not as movie accurate as working with plaster, but just as much fun for the fans to just have the chance to be part of the construction.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Another table at the workshop was for Super Sculpey creations. Not everyone wanted to get their clothes dirty and we needed as many creatures and Moisture Vaporators as we could get.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > For those not spending as much time at the show and not wanting to get all messy with plaster, we did offer a Super Sculpey table area to make whatever your imagination came up with. Mos Eisley is full of creatures from across the galaxy you know 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Kids really enjoyed this creative process.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > And when I say kids, I mean kids of ALL ages 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > From making accessories for the streets like Moisture Vaporators and Generators...
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Here is a picture of Austin Lerner painting the cantina chairs. Well he was painting until he was interrupted for this photo 🙂 - Heh heh.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > We had some hair dryers available to harden the Super Sculpey. I wanted to bring my oven, but there was no more room in the Mini-Van - Ha ha ha. Once hard, visitors could paint their Super Sculpey creations.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > .... to little aliens. Look at that concentration. I wonder if it was brought home as a souvenir and still in one piece after 20 years ?
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Some more creative builds mixing Super Sculpey and greeblies. Can't go wrong there.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > What's fun about Super Sculpey is the ability to harden it rock hard in your oven or with a paint strip gun.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > After a few minutes, you are ready to paint it. It also helps if you use the dark side of the force ;P
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > This wonderful lady from Italy was sooo nice and surprised us when she spoke french with us 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Look at that smile on her daughter !!! This is why I agreed to return every USA convention for all these years. Not to mention how much fun me and my team have interacting with all of you.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > She made a wonderful house with her daughter that was mistook for another and taken away on the Sunday 🙁 The house not the daughter ;P If you see this picture of yourself, please send me your name.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Here are a few more of Saturday's buildings. Very very cool if you ask me. Does this give you the urge to make your own at home? Come on...tell the truth...I know you do ;p
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > A finished house is ready to be taken to the drying table. The round shapes were Styrofoam balls cut in half. When we ran out of those, people started using the fruit bowls and paint containers - LOL. You gotta love that creativity 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Our hotel Masterpiece. It's too bad they could only work on it for the one day. I am sure they would have liked to bring it home as a souvenir. Look at all those stairs. Very cool.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Placing some of the first painted houses on the drying table so that we can place them in the diorama tomorrow.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > I loved how the public was so intrigued when passing through and looking at what the fans made in just 2 days.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Just look at this, now be honest - you have a big smile on your face now don't you ? 🙂 How could you not looking at all these amazing fan art.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY TWO - MAY 04 > Some went into adding painted details to their Greeblies. You can tell this isn't the first model he made 🙂 Looking so cool.
