- STEP 041 > When your cuts all connect, a little finger pressure should POP those 2.5cm strips right out.
- STEP 042 > Start cutting in one direction (corners) at a time, it helps you go a little faster. But NOT TOO fast, you want a clean cut ceiling after all 😛
- STEP 043 > Once you are done, pick another corner and cut all along the same direction. Remember to STOP before you reach the end.
- STEP 044 > Once every side of your boxes have been cut, flip the ceiling and examine the corner connections. If some are missing, just Use your X-Acto knife blade to make the connectivity.
- STEP 045 > Now the fun part and a little therapeutic 🙂 Carefully use your fingers to press and pop those shapes out from your ceiling frame.
- STEP 046 > If your corners connect you should have no problem getting these out.
- STEP 047 > After a few minutes your ceiling will look like this. NOW VERY IMPORTANT - having holes everywhere has weakened your foamcore shape A LOT. From this point on until the sides are glued on, you want to handle this with extreme care. You DON'T want to tear it and have all this hard work to be redone again.
- STEP 048 > Here you can see the importance of changing blades often. Remember foamcore is the KILLER of the blades. Too many cuts will dull it to where it starts to TEAR the side creating bubble holes like Aero chocolate bar. you DON'T want this. Look at the other sides how clean and smooth they are. That's what we want, and get from new blades.
- STEP 049 > Now we can grab our printed decal sheets.
- STEP 050 > Print 5x Page 1.
- STEP 051 > Print 4x page 2.
- STEP 052 > Print only 1x Page 3.
- STEP 053 > You will notice in the skins corners red lines, these are your CUTTING GUIDES to help you get more precise and even panels for your walls.
- STEP 054 > You want to align your Red Guides with a cork ruler (prevents it from sliding along the paper) Place your X-Acto blade just before the Start and slice along the ruler and STOP just shy of reaching the end of the decal sheet. Doing this will keep your vertical guides in their proper space. If you cut horizontally all the way through, your guide may become at an angle and give you false alignments for your other cuts.
- STEP 055 > When you cut your vertical slices, it's ok to go all the way across if you wish to.
- STEP 056 > For this page, you just want to cut around each shape. Start by slicing off horizontally from one end to the other. Try not to leave any white around the rectangle and DON'T CUT along the DARK blue lines. These are your FOLDING GUIDES for later.
- STEP 057 > Then you can trim off with scissors the white in betweens. Remember to NOT cut along the DARK lines.
- STEP 058 > Now for this page, it's easier to cut out your top piece first so that you can tackle the bottom 3 pieces later without bending or creasing your long decal.
- STEP 059 > As in the past, Start with the horizontal cuts, START and STOP just shy of the papers edges. Align the vertical red guides and slice at the sides.
- STEP 060 > Now you can slice the bottom of the long decal all the way across
