- Tony keeping guard at the entrance until the show starts, he has grown up with us, he and his sister Alyssa have been coming every show with their dad since C5 2010.
- 1 pm !!! The still images don't do this justice, the public was RUNNING IN !!! Like the Amazing Race, very funny to see LOL. And so it starts, Let the convention begin !!!
- Are we ready Are we ready ?
- First arrivals, 4 minutes in, now THAT is what I call TRUE FANS of the Diorama Builders 🙂
- And we have our VERY FIRST BUILDER !!! It is amazing to see just how excited and fun kids have coming to make some dioramas.
- Being first in line also gives you perks... some private one on one tutoring with the master builder 😛 He did NOT want to leave it was GREAT !!!
- The satisfaction of completing your FIRST Palm Tree leaf 🙂 People kept saying what a cool idea the design was to use Green painters Tape and SOO easy for all skill levels and ages.
- Making a Beach Ocean combo tile. Looking good !!!
- Mark helping out showing the fans how it's done.
- More tiles...
- not even 30 minutes in, and the booth workshop area was FULL CAPACITY !!! Very nice to see for sure, but not for those waiting in line 😛
- Some of the very first tiles drying on the tables, Fans are cranking these out fast.
- OH NO !!!! ACTUAL SCARIF OCEAN FLOOD in the workshop !!! The sink overflowed, due to barels being used instead of the floor drain, it was a disaster, peoples shoes were all wet, slippery floor was dangerous to walk on, soon after, the barrels were gone and we never had another flood for the rest of the show. Needless to say, when I saw the barrels, I knew, predicted this was gonna happen, just sayin 😉
- Back on the diorama display side of the booth, Jim working on the Shuttle cover that will be placed on top of the choo chho train, on the left is the Shuttle he made and won 1rst place at a FFG convention the week before.
- Scott and I working, trying to figure out the dimensions for the Citadel Tower landing pad base.
- Mark starting work on the AT-ACT template pieces that the fans will use to make their models starting tomorrow.
- And we have our VERY FIRST Tower completed. Fans really had a blast working in this new scale. After 15 years of using Hasbro figures, we didn't know if the fans would be excited or dissapointed.
- 5pm, time to eat my banana 🙂 This would become my main lunch everyday, because a pizza slice was like 12 bucks, that's like 200$ canadian ;P and when you work the booth in the day, time flies and you never seem to have time to stop to eat. Plus I learned that banana's taste REALLY REALLY GREAT when you are REALLY REALLY hungry LOL.
- Back on the builders side of the booth, Duke and Alissa still super busy at the main entrance. Fans kept pouring in ALL day.
- Great to see the parents coming with their kids to do Arts and Crafts. The thing they don't know yet, is once you make your first diorama, you just CAN'T STOP THERE !!! 🙂
