tutorials retro niubniub making of NABOO : GUNGAN BATTLE
. Welcome to a classic retro diorama tutorial. Originally created during the years my first website : NiubNiub’s Universe (1999-2010) High speed internet let alone HD images were still many years to come. Thus explains the blurry low res quality of some of the images. This aside, I thought some of you long time fans may enjoy a trip down memory lane to revisit these origin dioramas and for the not as old as me fans (cough cough LOL) fun to see what my early work looked like for the very first time. . . The thumbnail gallery below shows you ALL of the steps I did to complete this specific diorama. If you wish to read the description captions for each image of the making of, please click on the blue button link right below these images to warp to the deluxe tutorial that includes the full size images and detailed text Instructions for each step. Instruction pages are divided into blocks of 20 steps. Use the < GO BACK 20 and GO NEXT 20 > blue buttons to navigate the tutorial. . . Some of these early niubniub retro tutorials may have had at the time, free blueprints and decals downloads, like you see in today’s builds. If so, I will try and dig those up and put them online for you to use today. Visit my TUTORIALS SPEED INDEX page to see what is available at this time. If you have any questions or confused, you can email me firstname.lastname@example.org. Have fun building. Frank. . .

Welcome to my Naboo GUNGAN BATTLE step by step MAKING OF page. These original instructions may help inspire you to build this early NiubNiub creation diorama in your own home. Just like I did for the ones you see here in the GALLERY section. . .
This scene was part of my first phase dioramas, where I didn’t bother with movie accuracy as long as it fit on the 14″ deep wall shelves of my basement diorama room. Having never made dioramas before (apart from model kits as a kid) this technique using simple dollar store items and beginner techniques was a great way to slowly dip my toes into the Diorama hobby ? . .
The main memory I have of this scene is just how cool it looked because of soooo many hasbro toys released for Episode I. The diorama itself is very basic, but the fake model railroad grass gives it texture and the figures colors make this just POP. All the beasts, Vehicles, dozens of Gungans and battle Droids, if you weren’t collecting back in 1999 and can find a lot of these on ebay at cheap price, this is a super easy scene that will start you on your display addiction LOL..
. . Don’t forget you can always visit my website’s SPEED INDEX hyperlinks page to see all the other Death Star rooms are currently available for you to build. Remember – EVERYTHING is FREE all you need to do is purchase your materials from your nearest Dollar or Art Supply store. The MEGA DEATH STAR DIORAMA is designed to display your Star Wars Hasbro 3.75″ Action Figures. (You can also visit the TUTORIALS Menu to see visual guides of what other diorama builds are available) Along with Blueprints and decals when available to you. This diorama is a great display for your Star Wars Hasbro figures one you put a little time and sweat into it. ?
Did you already build this Diorama ? At home or at our Star Wars Celebration Diorama Builders workshop ? Would you like to show it in the site’s GALLERY VISITORS DIORAMAS section, YES ? That is Awesome !!! You can find out all the details on how to email me your photos on the VISITORS SUBMISSIONS INFO page … When I get your photos, I will create your very own page just like this one. You may not realize it but work does inspire others to join in the fun of making Action Figure Dioramas. .
