- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > Figuring out this room was the most logical place to begin. I already had done it for my Star Wars Celebration III Diorama Builders booth in 2005 but soon realized there were many movie inaccuracies that had to be corrected. This is one of the key points for me to create these before the full size construction. I want to not only make sure how all of these buildings will fit together but that they are as movie accurate as possible.
- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > All of the decal skins have been deluxified to 2022 standards and now movie accurate. The room will connect to the rear of the Docking Bay 327 rear Large Blastdoor just like in the film.
- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > Believe it or not the most complex part of this, was to figure out how the curves fit in the ceiling panel. There are many references online and in books, not to mention the movie itself, but none give a clear view of this ceiling. There was a lot of copy pastes to get it right.
- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > A view of how the lights shine through the ceiling grid will reflect on the glossy floor. Does it look like the movie ? 🙂
- DOCKING BAY 327 > Another deluxification for 2022 is the actual curve hallway layout from the movie plans. I had not done this back in 2005. If you decide to make this with the deluxe LED Ceiling and NEON Wall Panels, it will truly elevate the realism of this corner of the 327 Docking bay.
- DOCKING BAY 327 > The shaft will take up almost an entire sheet of foamcore, Doing it this way in maquette form, allows me also to figure out exactly where it will be placed come full size version.
- DOCKING BAY 327 > Once the decal skins are placed along the shaft walls, it really comes to life. These skins were also 2022 deluxified as the convention ones the fans used 2 decades ago were WAY OFF in movie accuracy. We no longer have to worry about that now 🙂
- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > When you look through the open Large Blast Door, you will see our Jedi battle in progress like in the movie 🙂
- DOCKING BAY 327 > Placed the white arrows that guide the Falcon to it's parking space.
- DOCKING BAY 327 > Starting to take shape. Also, here you can see to the right, I deluxified this area to include the side wall of the Small Blast Door. In the film there is a little more room to the right after the corner before the neon shield/gate but I had to modify slightly to have this all fit in my office.
- VADER vs KENOBI DUEL ROOM > To the left you can see how the room can be placed right against the outside wall of the 327 Docking Bay. You will notice that if you decide to recreate my design at home, you will have to place risers under the room, to elevate it to the same height as the Docking Bay floor (which allows for the sunken shaft)
- 327 RED CONTROL ROOM > Preview Social Media photo I thought you would like to see 🙂
- 327 RED CONTROL ROOM > Right after Roxy approved the design 🙂 and I posted this photo on facebook, one of my friends noticed I had put 7 Red Controls and not 8 !!! Seems the film has 8 and all these years had counted 7, I will have to go frame by frame and see if Agatha Vincent was correct 😛
- 327 RED CONTROL ROOM > After making this from the 2005 booth option, I realized there were a few gaffs I had done which I deluxidied for 2022. Notably the width of the closet where the Stormtroopers find R2 and 3P0 and the width of Wall just to the left of these Red Control Panels.
- 327 RED CONTROL ROOM > Oh another major deluxification are the windows, I had the dimensions correct for the convention but not the angle slant of the top and bottom frames which in turn gave the wrong angle on the side skins. All of that has now been corrected to full movie accuracy.
- DOCKING BAY 327 > I managed to place the ceiling. Because the maquette is 40% the actual size, I was able to use ONE piece of foamcore but when the actual version will be made, it will take 3 full sheets, so I had to have a way to create a kind of support to allow other rooms to stack on top and at the same time, keep the 3 pieces flat together. Placing some beams will do the trick. When it's full size, I will be able to see if I can pull off 3 like I did here or need more for extra support. Stay tuned on that decision during the full size making of.
- CONFERENCE ROOM > Next up was a logical choice, the Conference room as this one also was built back in 2005 for the booth and I just needed to deluxify a little the skins to make them more accurate to the movie set. The actual wall blueprints remained the same.
- CONFERENCE ROOM > This is a cool room to make but tedious due to the number of units you need to cut and assemble to give you the curve.
-
BASIC HALLWAYS A-B-C > I recreated the Basic hallways that I made last year and which you can see the full tutorials for all 3 on my YouTube channel. Making the maquette will allow me to see where I can fit these alongside the other rooms. Looking good so far.
I will be uploading new photos to these pages as I create more maquettes, make sure to come back to the site and see when I post a notification for them in the LATEST NEWS section. Frank.
