- STEP 341 > Now switch to your X-Acto PEN and trim off your corner excess using your foamcore edges as your cutting guide.
- STEP 342 > Time for some Black Sharpie around all decal edges.
- STEP 343 > We don't want to break the door illusion with a big black exposed foamcore crack so apply some gluestick all along the bottom and each side of the door but stop 1.5 inches or so after the round upper corners.
- STEP 344 > Peel back your thickness decal strip.
- STEP 345 > Start by finding where the strip lines match up with the front of your door.
- STEP 346 > Then gently fold it over till it lays on top of the foamcore double thickness.
- STEP 347 > One side at a time, ALWAYS STARTING AT CENTRE press along the strip, fold it over the 90 degree corner, then pull tight as you press down around the curved corners towards the top and the end of the decal itself. Do this on the other side now. START CENTRE !!!
- STEP 348 > Use the finger nail technique to blend the edges with each other and help the bonding of the 3 decals.
- STEP 349 > This space you see here between the 2 red arrows, this is the door alignment, the groove that the movie set door travels up and down. This is where you want your door to align with.
- STEP 350 > Apply 2 small hot glue dots onto the exposed portion of your double thickness door.
- STEP 351 > Carefully align it with the guideline seen in Step 349 and lower the door top onto the frame's ceiling. Let the hot glue cool down a minute or so before you flip the door 180 degrees.
- STEP 352 > Once you flip your door, you can see how it looks just like in the movie - BOINK !!! - LOL. Now your gag door is completed and ready to be placed in your Red Room diorama. Go to the Tutorial SPEED INDEX menu to find the links you need to build it.
