- STEP 061 > Now measure on both sides, starting at the bottom of your foamcore upwards, 5 cm and then another 5 cm from that. So one mark at 5 cm and the other at 10 cm.
- STEP 062 > Now connect the top marks with your pencil.
- STEP 063 > And again with the middle (5 cm ) marks.
- STEP 064 > Now draw a line on the right side connecting all of the end points ( 15 cm )
- STEP 065 > Time to cut along your guides with your X-Acto utility knife. Make sure it's straight 90 perfection as you go down the line 🙂
- STEP 066 > Now cut along the 10 cm edge.
- STEP 067 > And one laast cut down the middle.
- STEP 068 > All of your foamcore pieces are now cut. It's time to prepare the decals.
- STEP 069 > These are ALL the decal sheets you will need to create ONE Hallway Archway. They are available for FREE in the Tutorials section of the site or by going directly to them using this link ... https://dioramaworkshop.com/tutorials-decals-death-star-hallways-archway/
- STEP 070 > When you cut out your decal edges, make sure to cut BETWEEN the BLEED ( the dark edge around the blue grey panels ) Don't cut along the Blue OR the white of the paper.
- STEP 071 > When you grab either "A" or "B" decal pages you will notice that to save you some time, on one side, I merged the 2 wall panels side by side.
- STEP 072 > You can tell which one is the double decal by placing the 9 cm wide wall area along your decal sheet. You will quickly see the double decal fits exactly along the 9 cm wide area as the other single wall panel fits on the regular 6 cm wall area.
- STEP 073 > When you are ready, use your ruler and X-Acto utility knife to slice along the OUTSIDE EDGES ONLY and ALONG THE BLEED !!! If you prefer scissors, you can cut along with that too.
- STEP 074 > See how when you slice in the centre of the bleed, there remains a small dark line on your decal print.
- STEP 075 > All the while keeping a nice dark edge around your wall panel decal.
- STEP 076 > Continue on cutting around all your pieces.
- STEP 077 > OUTSIDE EDGE ONLY !!! Remember you DON'T want to slice in between the 2 wall panels.
- STEP 078 > For the "F" and "G" end pieces you can use ANY of the BASIC Death Star Wall Panels - available in the BASIC HALLWAY diorama tutorial. For convinience I placed 4 of the designs that I think work nicely for the Archway. You only need TWO PANELS for this build, so select which ones you want and cut them out.
- STEP 079 > To help you cut the perfect shape, you will notice these RED GUIDES at the TOP and BOTTOM of the panels. These are your vertical cutting guides.
- STEP 080 > So the 2 panels I have chosen for myself as the first end... Panel 4 ( again you can follow my lead or make your own choices, that's what is fun about the Death Star diorama, it all fits like Lego blocks 🙂
