- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > This is the coolest building. Don't stop !!! We can still include it even if the paint is wet.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Since there's no more room on the table, too many house were built. Someone suggested taking one of the work tables, covering it with plastic and using that as an extension. BRILLIANT plan. I am glad I thought of it ;P
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > A little more spray glue on the plastic cover so that the sawdust stays in place.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Because of the adhesive to the table surface, the sawdust didn't all fly up in the air but landed just where it was supposed to 🙂 Last thing I wanted was to cause everyone to sneeze. Hee hee. As you can see, sawdust works as a great sand substitute and is very very cheap. Like...FREE 🙂 when you cut wood.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > I find that this works so much better than real sand for a diorama, it's lighter and less coarse and I find looks just like Tatooine
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Now we have room for the last minute additions.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > So happy that all fan builds can now be included. I knew we would not disappoint any builders by excluding their creations.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Some last minute touches to the sawdust. A dry paintbrush can work miracles to stretch your arm further 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Almost finished. Time to sprinkle some extra sawdust on the buildings edges to blend them in with the ground.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Sunday at 11:45 AM. Just 15 minutes before the drawing and premiere of the diorama. Can the Cantina be completed in time?
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Construction zone is pretty much empty now.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Discussing if there is enough sand on the streets, we can still see some cracks of the table gaps.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > We wanna play too 🙂 Some of the fan Super Sculpey creations.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Look at all that creativity !!!
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Don't give up, we have a space reserved for you. It was great to see she wasn't quitting her build after all this effort.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Joe asking where the Cantina is. No I'm kidding. I think he was saying how cool everything looks.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Jamie got his helpers
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Imagine 20 years ago, you had to bring a camera with you to take photos. NOT a PHONE 🙂 That's how it was in 2002.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > 11:59...1 minute before the draw. Now that's calling it close 🙂 Look how wonderful the Cantina looks. Sure it's all wet and gooey, but from far away no one can tell 🙂
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > I think we got pretty much everything set up.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > The proud daddy standing in front of the finished Diorama. I was SO excited and happy at this point. The result was just AWESOME. So much beyond what I thought was possible to accomplish. And the most amazing thing...besides the amount of participants and talent, was that Mos Eisley was created in 1 1/2 days!!! I am still in awe looking back at the pictures. Stand up People!!! You deserve all the applause.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > It still blows my mind that fans created all of this in just 2 days !!!
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > It looks so great as is but wait till we place the Hasbro action figures.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Asking Jamie how will we place the action figures and know which ones were mine and which were his for when we remove them at the end of the day.
- CONSTRUCTION DAY THREE - MAY 05 > Decided to place little paint dots under the feet of the figures so that we would be able to identify who's collection they belonged to and could go back to the right home.
