You aren’t seeing things 🙂 Yes it’s true – The CORE CREW NEEDS YOU !!! For the very first time in our Diorama Builders 17 year history, we have created an OFFICIAL CREW APPLICATION so that fans like yourself, can come and help us BEHIND THE SCENES and get to experience the workshop like only the CORE CREW have in the past.
Since 2002, I have been fortunate enough to design and produce what has now become one of the most anticipated, and expected, family activities of the Star Wars Celebration conventions : The Diorama Builders workshops. From Tatooine to the Death Star, Bespin or Endor, our workshop booth is also one of the FEW FREE events (thanks to Lucasfilm and Reed Pop paying for all the art supplies) that families have enjoyed coming to and learning new skills in building dioramas. And if I do say so myself, one of the COOLEST SOUVENIRS – to bring home on the last day, the piece of diorama they built during the show.

As you can expect, I cannot do this all myself. In the past 17 years, I have created a solid CORE CREW (all fans like yourselves who came to the booth to build dioramas and just happened to stick around more and more every convention until I dragged them into my crazy adventure) that has become more of a FAMILY after all these years working together.
This year with our partnership with FFG, we are heading into a brand NEW direction that will be full of NEW challenges and excitement and because of this, I know, we WILL NEED MORE HELP than just my Core 7. This is why we decided to create SHIFT ROTATIONS that will not only help us but also allow you guys and gals who want to step it up – the chance to hang out with us, and see what it’s like BEHIND THE SCENES of a convention booth. Not to mention a sweet bag of THANK YOU SWAG as part of our gratitude for giving up a few precious hours away from you doing regular convention activities.
HOW CAN I HELP THE DIORAMA BUILDERS CORE CREW ?
There are many ways you can help us… from pre-packaging art supplies, making sure fans have what they need to build, help keep the work stations tidy and if you have come build with us in the past, hep with tips to those coming for the very first time. Plus you have the control to come at the time of day and what day is most convenient to you. ONE SHIFT is all it takes to be a RECRUIT – BUT… we are ALSO looking for THREE V.I.P. RECRUITS who are willing to help with at least ONE SHIFT EACH DAY (5 days). These V.I.P. helpers will get the same SWAG BAG as the other RECRUITS but with some ADDED ULTRA SECRET BONUS GIFTS that I know many convention fans would die to have 😛 Just saying LOL.

I’d love to join but I have no tickets. Everything sold out really fast and since I’ve never been to one I didn’t know the speed of which that happens. 🙁
