For our second adventure we went with the dark side and the imperial symbol as the main logo art. Still in it’s baby steps, I wasn’t yet going full into spending many hours designing the look of these as I do now (thinking of patches and pins in the process)

LOOKING BACK…

FRANK: This was my second workshop and we would see if the first was just coincidence or if the fans still showed up to build again and confirm that we had a true hit on our hands. I remember the Drive to Indianapolis with my friend and Co-Worker Eric. We just finished our shots on the Jessica Alba Fantastic Four movie and packed the van until not one more inch could fit in. We drove all night non stop and then were so tired, we slept in a parking lot. Not the most comfy sleep. At daylight, we had maybe 3-4 more hours to go before arriving at the convention center.

The rest of the Montreal friends, Jose (who was part owner of Legends toy store) and his then wife patricia flew in to join us, the lucky bastards LOL, How I wish I didn’t hadve to lug Death Star walls and Dioramas for display, it would have been a lot easier to take a plane with them. Anyways, I remember assembling the Death Star and smiling how cool it looked and HOW LONG the PAINTING took. Geez, it was FOREVER. We finished close to 8 or 9 pm. We had to wait for the paint to dry before placing my dioramas for the exhibit so I just layed them ready for the morning where we would rush before the crowd was allowed to come into the main hall.
