- STEP 181 > When you are done wrapping side 2 around the tube move to the remaining corner and fold over the dark strips against the rear of the base wall.
- STEP 182 > If you want to secure the decal even more, you can use scotch tape along the rear to lock in the dark strip edges to the rear wall foamcore surface.
- STEP 183 > If you are attaching your Large Round Wall Panel to a hallway with floor and ceiling then congratulations your creation is complete 🙂
-
STEP 184 > If you are building a multi level Death Star diorama and using your Large Round Wall Panel as a corner support then you will want to cover the rear with some decal skins.
The cool part is that ALL Basic decals measure the same 6 cm, so you can use ANY patern that you prefer. These are the 2 that I chose for my own project.
- STEP 185 > After you selct the 2 decals you want to use and cut them out, for the best result, you want to use your Black Sharpie and darken all around each sticker paper thickness using the sharpies long edge, not the tip of the pen.
- STEP 186 > Now when applying rear decals you must make sure you are applying them in the correct position. The TOP of the Large Round Wall Panels is where you see these 4 square embossed shapes.
- STEP 187 > The TOP of most decals have embossed details that contain a white hilite and darker shadow. The white marks the TOPS.
- STEP 188 > Apply some gluestick all over the first half of your rear wall. Do this EVEN if using peel away sticker sheets. It will allow you to wiggle the decal into its perfect resting place.
- STEP 189 > Take the first decal of your choice and align it with the outer edge. Make sure the top and bottom corners are centered and the side is flush against the outer wall.
- STEP 190 > Now use your gluestick to apply glue to the remaining exposed foamcore.
- STEP 191 > Carefull apply the 2nd decal of your choice. It should fit perfectly.
- STEP 192 > You now have a completed rear wall design for the rear of your Large Round Wall panel.
- STEP 193 > The cool thing about these walls is that in the movie some are side by side like this.
- STEP 194 > And if you use them as supports then you will have a cool look like this on their opposite sides.
- STEP 195 > The other cool thing about these Round panels is that they are designed like Lego bricks. the Small Round Wall Panel is the exact 6 cm width of all the Basic Wall Panels. So you can place it exactly as you see in the movie or anywhere else your imagination allows you to do so.
- STEP 196 > The Large Round Wall Panel is exactly 12 cm wide, the same as TWO Basic Wall Panels. So it too can be placed anywhere that you want to.
- STEP 197 > So there you have it. you now have at least 1 Small and 1 Large Round Wall Panel for your diorama. Now the fun part of these builds is that they are super easy and they really bring your hallways to life. Send me photos of how you used them in your diorama 🙂
