.
After Star Wars Celebration V, I realized that arriving just the day before the show did not give me enough time to prepare everything in a non stressful way 🙂 So I started arriving one day before the rest of the crew and do the hard labor (getting and loading the truck of all the art supplies from our local contacts house) and time consuming (going to rent a car, driving all around town in heavy traffic, fighting off the other booths at the loading docks) It’s not fun and when I used to try and to this within the same day of the main final set up, it was just chaos. So I am lucky enough to be able to take off work an extra day and leave Montreal to start preparing the show for you guys and girls. This is the START of my Orlando 2012 journey…
- Before I leave Montreal, I had to mail ALL of these boxes to the convention center. Hope they arrive on time.
- Gloomy day leaving Montreal 7 am towards Orlando
- Thank god for Philip, look at all of the stuff that got shipped to his house !
- Now the caca part ... I have to load ALL of THIS into the rental van and drive it to the convention center loading dock
- Entering the main hangar bay, let's unload
- Look at the SIZE of this thing !!! That is just for US 🙂
- The first thing that greeted us was the OFFICIAL Lucasfilm/Reed Diorama Builders SIGN. Always puts a smaile on our faces and reminds us, are we ready to do another one ? no turning back now 🙂
- Dropped off all our materials from Philip's house. It's a good thing we have him in Florida, because it would cost a FORTUNE to ship these to orlando from Canada.
- Another view of all our supplies. Foamcore, foamcore and MORE Foamcore (some of you non Canadians may say foamboard ;p) Cardboard in the back , tons of it.
- Can't do Tatooine without plaster bandages. we got MORE then enough this time, I learned my lesson after Celebration 2 🙂
- Found this dead on our table, look at the SIZE of that BUG. Killer Dragon Flies compared to back home. If that would have landed on my head during the show, fans in the workshop would have heard a loud scream for sure 😛
- This is NOT the sand we were promissed 🙁 Grrr, the downside of ordering local from out of town when you can't SEE the product before had. We were promised sawdust and got wood CHIPS instead.
- The scale of this does NOT fit the figures. Deep breaths DEEP BREATHS. I must not let this little hickup ruin the fans fun for the week. Grrrr. I am NOT HAPPY 🙁
- What the booth looks like at the end of the day, Time to shower and meet the crew at the hotel.
