- STEP 041 > Slowly and carefully go around the quarter circle until you connect with the straight cut line.
- STEP 042 > Flip around and you can see your cuts are all as they should be. Time to move to the bottom feet.
- STEP 043 > Since there is no frame at the bottom, just a hole where the actual Death Star floor will be, you have to curve and stop just above the edge here and tehn we will chop off the end vertically.
- STEP 044 > Start at the end of the straight cut line and curve around the bottom carefully, try and follow the bleed at the bottom. It's not easy, our blade has tendency to exit instead of follow the edge.
- STEP 045 > Let's do the other side now.
- STEP 046 > Last but not least just 2 small vertical snips on each end.
- STEP 047 > The centre of your door frame should just POP out easily. DO NOT TRASH !!! You will need this later for your door, so put aside for now and identify as door 1.
- STEP 048 > Your first frame is completed and fragile !!! be careful NOT to BEND the sides as you manipulate it.
- STEP 049 > If you are wondering why you need to keep the center, it is because when you place it back in with the door sticker applied, it will fit perfectly like a puzzle piece. If you were to trace and cut a new piece it would fit but not as precise.
- STEP 050 > Time for door frame number 2. You know the drill by now. just repeat. Straight cut between the corners.
- STEP 051 > Move to the top then other side. Same straight cuts.
- STEP 052 > Move on to the X-Acto Pen and sarefully cut the corner lines. On both top sides...
- STEP 053 > And your bottom sides. You now have 2 frames. Keep the door and identify the centre piece as door 2
- STEP 054 > Moving on to the next pieces you will need, this time NOT in foamcore but cardboard, Posterboard to be more precise.
- STEP 055 > posterboard is thicker than paper so it's perfect as a stronger decal spine support but thin enough compared to regular cardboard which would not bend as easy. Buy a BLACK SHEET when at the store if possible. White is ok but Black works best.
- STEP 056 > The most common measurement is 6 cm, so let's make a long strip of that by putting a mark at 6 cm on each end of your posterboard sheet.
- STEP 057 > Align your marks with your ruler and grab your X-Acto knife and slice your sheet all the way across.
- STEP 058 > You now need 4 corner rectangles, so put marks at the top and bottom 5 cm apart.
- STEP 059 > Align and cut your 4 pieces. 3 cuts actually to get your 4 pieces 🙂
- STEP 060 > Now grab another piece of posterboard - as long as it is minimum 13 cm x 13 cm and measure 12 cm at the top and bottom of your sheet.
