The Big Round Wall is an OPTIONAL design element for your Death Star diorama. If you watch the movie, you will notice them spread out within the Death Star hallways.
To start, grab a scrap piece of foamcore and make 2 holes with a pin 6cm apart.
Now push a thumbtack in the first hole and secure it to the edge of a new foamcore. Insert the pencil into the 2nd hole and spin it round to trace a perfect half circle. Draw 2 of these.
Once the 2 circles are drawn, grab your Xacto pen or knife to cut them out. You now have 2 Half Moon foamcore shapes.
Now cut a new piece of foamcore measuring 15.5cm X 12cm. This is your rear base support.
You now have 3 these shapes for the Small Round Wall skeleton.
Hot glue the 2 half circles on each end of your rectangle base. Make sure the pieces are flush with either end.
Now we need extra support bracket to keep the 2 circles from collapsing under pressure so cut out another rectangle measuring 4cm X 14.5cm
Take the support bracket and align it with the outer edges of the circles and Hot glue it into place. Your core is complete.
Decal prints alone are too fragile, so we need a 15.5cm X 20.5cm piece of Black Cardboard or posterboard to avoid tears and wrinkles.
To make a smooth surface for your decal, put a line of Hot Glue along the right edge of the back rear support. Let it harden, then slowly bend and press the cardboard around and Hot Glue it to the circle tops and finally the left edge.
You now have a skin sturdy enough to stick or glue your decal to.
Print out the Big Tube decal page (available for free in Basic Hallway Decal set) and cut out the decal along the edges.
After trimming your Decal is ready to be applied and should look like this.
If you printed on full size Label Sheets, Peel back the protective paper (If you printed on regular paper, use Glue Sticks on the back of your decal.
Align and apply the decal to the right edge of the cardboard. To avoid bubbles, put your index and middle finger on the edge center, now press a little forward around the curve and stop. Back to center, press towards bottom. Back to center press towards top. Continue this until you get all the way around to the other side.
It was as simple as that. Your optional Big Round Wall accessory is now complete and ready to be placed in your Death Star diorama.
The cool thing about this design is that you can place it ANYWHERE you want to. Use my photos to be movie accurate or build as big as your imagination permits 🙂

Welcome to the optional Death Star BIG ROUND WALL accessory step by step MAKING OF page. These instructions will help you build my diorama so that you can display your own action figures at home just like the ones you see here in the GALLERY section. In some cases there is also VIDEO MAKING OF for those who find still images a little more confusing. You can see if one is available for this diorama in the Tutorial SPEED INDEX page. While you are there, you can also see what DECALS, BLUEPRINTS, MATERIALS LIST is available as well. Not all Dioramas instructions have or need ALL 5 Tutorials categories, especially older NiubNiub era scenes. I do plan on going back at some point to revisit, rebuild these older fan favorite scenes and create the missing content. X
If there is ONE TRUE ICONIC set design in the Star Wars universe, it has to be the DEATH STAR. The simplicity of the design is what makes it’s hallways the coolest hallways in cinema history 🙂 X
This Big Round Wall accessory is not a must for you to build your Death Star Diorama, you can just use the Basic Wall panels if you want to keep it simple. But… if you watch the movie, you can see that these Big Round Walls are located all over the set. The cool thing about this accessory is that I designed it like Lego, once built, it measures TWO basic Wall Panel wide (6cm) thus can be placed ANYWHERE you wish in your hallways. You decide what details YOU want, how many, and WHERE you want them. Build and add Blastdoors, Arches, Small Round Walls and Doors and connect your hallways to rooms like Red Control Room, Docking Bay, Trash Compactor to name a few (all available as separate instructions in the TUTORIALS Menu) The sky is the limit and the perfect background display for your Star Wars Hasbro figures.
